Safey Tip: Bike Lights, Don't Leave Home Without 'em

It's that time of year when it's a good idea to have your bike lights with you/on your bike all the times. You just never know when you'll need 'em.

And, did you know it's the law in DC to have bike lights when riding at night?!  Yup:  Section 1204.2  Pick up a copy of the WABA Pocket Guide to Washington, DC Bike Laws.  It's a very handy and informational pocket guide.  Well be getting those to you on Roundabout ride day!  Thanks WABA!

Do you love Amsterdam Falafel?

We are so pleased to announce that Amsterdam Falafel is supporting Roundabout Century.  If you've never had Amsterdam Falafel, you really should.  A seriously delicious healthy food option (burns really well) for low cost - 2 things we bikers really love. They must have over 30 different fresh toppings. There's a location in Adams Morgan (the original location and start of it all!), a new location on 14th St and it's also our go to lunch spot during ride day in Annapolis. They have generously offered to give riders a 10% discount on lunch. Yum!  Thank You Amsterdam Falafel!  For location addresses check here.

Roundabout Century Thursday Evening Training Rides Begin!

Great news!  We kicked off the first "official" Roundabout Thursday Weekday Training Ride.

Did you know that every Thursday evening at 6pm until the Roundabout Century event we are doing a 20 mile ride?  We leave from a variety of starting points in DC. Tonight we met at The Bike Rack.  What an awesome DC bike shop.  We headed north to Greenbelt riding on both roads and paved bike trails and back including the Anacostia Tributary Trail System/NE Branch Trail.  And very nicely ended at the famous kegerator home (we all know whose home I'm referring to) for a nice taste of 3 draft brews.  A beautiful evening, perfect weather, nice ride, great people.  Wonderful way to spend a Thursday evening after work.

Want to join us next Thursday evening for a 20 training ride? Email Gillian at gillian@roundaboutcentury.com  See you then!

p.s.  The  picture above was not from last's night because silly us... we didn't take any pictures.  Instead, this is Matt, Andre and Gillian during WABA's 50 States Ride!
